 New Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande takes charge General Manoj Pande is the 29th  chief of the Indian Army staff. GEN. Pande takes over the baton from outgoing chief Naravane. General Naravane retired after a service of 4 decades. Outgoing Army chief GEN Naravane called on President Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Defence Minister also met with him. Prior to his relinquishing his duties, he received a guard of honor at the south block. GEN also laid a wreath at the national war memory in the national capital. Gen Naravane helmed the army during the almost 2year long India-China standoff at the LAC The new army chief Manoj Pand, who comes from CORPS of engineering has his task cut out, From resolving border rows to threaterisation  to the indigenization of Army hardware General Pande takes over as chief at a time when the LAC standoff in the eastern Ladakhis set to enter its third year. Gen Pande was commissioned to the CORPS of engineers in December 1986.

 INDIAS FIREPOWER GET BOOSTED UP IAF, NAVY TESTED TWO BRAHMOS MISSILE IN A SINGLE DAY Brahmos supersonic missile fired from the guided-missile destroyer. Navy test-fires Brahmos anti-ship variant successfully. India successfully test-fired a Brahmos supersonic cruise missile from the guided-missile destroyer  INS-Delhi. Indian Navy confirmed the launch, saying that ' successfully maiden Brahmos firing by INS Delhi. An upgraded modular once again demonstrated long range capacity of Brahmos along with the validation of integrated network centric operation from frontline platform' Test came on the same day IAF test-fired a brahmos missile from a Sukhoi fighter jet on the eastern seaboard.  POWER OF BRAHMOS SUPERSONIC MISSILE  Brahmos supersonic missile created a hole in the Indian Navy's abanded ship. Day after India test-fired the supersonic missile from its Sukhoi-30MKI jet. Brahmos official said that missile (without a warhead) created a hole in the ship. Officials added that the missile was travelling at a speed of 3000km/hr Offcials says that the missile is difficult to intercept ny an air defence system. The Indian Air Force claimed that the missile hit the target with accuracy and precision. IAF said that the ship sank after the missile with the warhead hit directly. The live firing of the missile was carried out in close coordination with the navy on Tuesday. Upgraded modular launcher onboard INS Delhi was used  to test the anti-ship variant of the missile  In 2016, Govt decides to integrate Air-Launched variant of brahmos into 40 sukhoi fighter jet. On march 5, advanced version of Brahmos was tested from stealth destroyer INS Chennai

CLASH BETWEEN COPS AND ARMY AT SRILANKA The clash between cops and army at srilanka due to the ongoing inflation. This incident takes place on the 6th of April in Colombo When masked soldiers with assault rifles drove through a crowd of protesters. The armed soldiers were seen on unmarked bikes at a protest near parliament. Women, Children, and the Elderly had also participated in the protest. Officials of the Srilankan police tried to stop the group of armed soldiers on the bike. A cop appeared to take the key out of the ignition which result in the exchange of verbal confrontation between the  army and the cops  Srilankan army chief demanded an inquiry after the soldiers were stopped.  Andhra Chemical factory Fire; Six Burn Dead After Gas Leak Deadly blase in the chemical factory six burned to death in a massive fire accident in Andhra Pradesh. The fire occurred at a chemical factory called porous private limited in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, India  The fire broke out in the factory delivering polymer. Police said that due to the leak flames started hitting the factory through an opened manhole. Five people died on the spot and 12 people have burned injuries. CM on Andhra announced a 25 lakhs compensation to the kin of the deceased. A probe has been ordered  by the Andhra Pradesh government to ascertain the cause behind the tragic fire accident

 INDIA LAUNCHED AN UPGRADED SYSTEM OF PINAKA AIR DEFENCE  The new version of the pinaka rocket system was successfully flight-tested by the DRDO and the Indian Army. The test was conducted at the Pokhran firing range in which as many as 24 Pinaka-mk1(enhanced) Rocket System (EPRS) were fired from different ranges during the last fortnight  and the weapon meets the required accuracy and consistency  EPRS is the upgraded version of the Pinaka variant that has been in service with the Indian army for the last decade. The rocket system has been upgraded with advanced technologies enhancing its range. The Pinaka Rocket System has been developed by the Armament Research and Developments in Pune and supported by the high emergency material research laboratory of the DRDO   Defence Ministry: The industry partners are ready for the series production of the rocket system.DRDO chairman congratulated the team involved in the project for completing the flight trial of the Rocket system

 U.S wants India to move away from NAM,  The U.S has yet again advised India to change its neutral stance on the Russian-Ukraine conflict. U.S Deputy secretary of state Wendy Sherman has now waded into the debate; She claimed the US will prefer India to move away from the non-alignment G77 partnership with Russia   The top U.S diplomat was during a congressional hearing this week. U.S congressman Tim Burchett had asked about U.S policy towards India amid with Russia and Ukraine conflict, to this Wendy Sherman said that America's relation with India is a very critical one.
