BRAHMOS BOOST FOR INDIAN NAVY

 Rs 1700CR DEAL FOR BRAHMOS FOR INDIAN NAVY  Defense ministry signs Rs 1700-cr contract with Brahmos aerospace PVT LTD. The deal has been signed to buy additional duel-role capable missiles for the Navy. A move that will provide impetus to 'AATMANORBHARATA' in defense production. The induction of Brahmos missiles will significantly enhance the operational capability of Indian Navy fleet assets. Brahmos variants can be launched from Land, Air, and sea all three variants of Brahmos are in service in the Indian Armed Forces. In May, India fired an extended range variant of Brahmos from Sukhoi-30 with the weapon achieving a direct hit on the designated target in the bay of Bengal. The Brahmos missile, an Indo-Russian joint venture, has a range of 290 km. It is the fastest cruise missile in the world with a top speed of Mach 2.8. Shots were fired at Israeli security forces explosives and Molotov was also thrown.  PAK RANGERS OPEN FIRE AGAINST BSF TROOPS IN ARNIA SECTOR Pak Rangers violates the ceasefire along the International border by firing at BSF troops in Jammu and Kashmir. BSF said that Pak Rangers resorted to 'Unprovoked firing' in the Arnia sector of Jammu today morning. BSF said that the Pakistani Rangers fired at a unit of their troops near the International border. No injuries were reported in the Pakistani firing and BSF responded in a 'Befitting' manner. BSF: Alert troops gave a befitting reply to the unprovoked firing by Pak Rangers in the Arnia sector. No loss or injury to the border security force troops and an officer says this incident was a major incident in recent months. The ceasefire violation by Pakistani coincides with the Indian visit of Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina. TAIWAN DEPLOYS 'HUNTER WAPONS' TO KEEP CHINA DRONES AWAY AMID CONFLICT

 TAIWAN PUT AN END TO THE DRONE THREAT BY CHINA Taiwan has armed its soldiers with anti-drone guns amid the rising Chinese drone threat. Taiwan's defense ministry shared footage that showed its troops in action demonstrating drone interception in restricted zones on the frontline. Taiwan has issued these weapons to soldiers stationed at Kinmen and Matsu islands. Anti-Drone guns can disrupt the frequency of drones causing them to lose control and crash.  Kinmen and Matsu Islands are a few kilometers away from the Chinese coast and have recently witnessed a spate of unidentified drone activities. Taipei's move comes days after Taiwanese soldiers downed an unidentified drone in Kinmen. Taiwan sees increasing Chinese drone activity as another bid to 'provocate'   

INDIA SURPASSES UK TO BECOME WORLD'S 5TH LARGEST ECONOMY

INDIA IS NOW THE WORLD'S LARGEST 5TH ECONOMY Huge blow for Britain as it falls behind India to become the world's 6th largest economy. India emerges as the world's 5th largest economy-forecast to grow at 7% this year. Indian economy toppled the UK from its position in the last 3 months of 2021. Indian economy performs better despite pandemic recovery and fear of a global slowdown. Bloomberg: the size of the Indian economy in 'Nominal' cash terms in the quarter through march stood at $854.7 MN, while the UK was at 819 MN. The IMF too had projected that India will overtake the UK this year as it is struggling with high energy prices and rising consumer inflation.  Just a decade ago, The Asian powerhouse was at the 11th position, Uk was at the 5th spot. This comes just days after Moody's projected 7.7% India growth rate for 2022. At 13.5%, India's GDP grew at its fastest in a year in the April-June quarter.

INDIA MAKES CLEAR AFTER THE PAKISTAN LINK TRADE TO KASHMIR

 'ONUS ON PAK' INDIA UNHAPPY WITH PAKISTAN PM STATEMENT ON TRADE WITH KASHMIR  Pakistan unilaterally snapped commercial ties with India in 2019 after the takedown of article 370 by the Indian government, India cleared that till now there is no extension on assistance to flood-affected Pakistan and India will consider requests from international agencies about shipping aid via Indian territory. The issues of both trade and humanitarian assistance have been in focus since the Pak finance minister earlier this week said Pak can consider importing vegetable and food items from India to cope with shortage due to floods, which have killed more than 1,000 people and affected 33 million. INDIA TO SENT AID TO FLOOD-HIT PAK? MEA CLARIFIES INDIAN GOVERNMENT STAND

 INDIA TO DISPATCH AID TO PAKISTAN? MEA CLEARS... Ministry of external affairs has cleared the air over reports of sending flood relief to Pak. MEA's clarification on PAK relief suggests that no such proposal, as of now, is with the government.MEA  reiterated PM Narendra Modi's message of condolence to the flood-affected areas in Pakistan. The MEA clarification came in response to the reports that suggested that India may send aid to Pakistan.  The MEA refused to comment on PAK PM's statement wherein he linked trade with India to Kashmir. More than 1,000 people died in Pakistan as Flood ravaged the country's four provinces. The natural calamity affected over 33 million and caused a severe food shortage. On Monday, PM Modi expressed solidarity with the flood-affected people of Pakistan. On Wednesday, PAK pm SHAHBAZ SHERIF thanked PM Modi for consoling the death caused by floods in Pakistan.
